Daddy's Helper

Billy recently busted out the entire collection of screwdrivers and did an overhaul on our very old computer. Avery was right there with him. And I mean RIGHT THERE. He was really into helping and it was soo cute! Miraculously, Billy was able to complete the project despite all the "help" and everything is working much better. They have both their eyes and no one got electrocuted. Avery really believes he is responsible for assisting and I can see the beginning of a long and happy partnership.

Happy Fall!

We've been doing lots of "fallish" things lately. We've been enjoying the nip in the air, wearing jackets and "gubs" (gloves) and drinking "hot hot" (hot chocolate) before bed. Recently, we raked up all the leaves in the front yard and tried to convince Avery that it was really fun to jump in them. Strangely, a door to door salesman and our next door neighbor wanted to jump in them more than he did. Alas, that's the way it goes around here. We finally just threw him in the pile and he realized it wasn't so bad...until they filled his diaper...then he got annoyed.
We also painted a pumpkin. We wanted to go to a pumpkin patch, but they're only open on weekends and are all kind of expensive. We found this baby at Wal-Mart for the bargain price of $3.98, and took 'er home. Here's the process that yielded our finished product.

It started with feverish sharpie drawing.

Here. Let's do some hand prints!

This is alright!

More!

Blap!

Really gettin' into it.

Hard at work!

This is how you do it right?

Better get the foot in here for good measure!

He's almost wearing as much paint as the pumpkin is.

Ta Da!

Here's the back
Happy FALL!

Run Billy Run!

Billy has lost quite a bit of weight over the summer. Almost 100 lbs! He probably wouldn't appreciate me blabbing that on the world wide web because he doesn't like to make a big deal of it, but I'm proud of him!! He has been running a lot and has run in three races this fall. He's done well. Always shaving time off of his previous times. I always take lots of pictures and it embarrasses him.
Embarrassed at my picture taking while stretchin' in out.

Someone's carbo-loading.

Avery likes to stretch it out too!

The latest race he did was a Heels for Hope race in OKC. We flew in and met up with his dad and sister and his brother drove down from OSU. They all did great and it was special for them to run together. Billy's dad and brother actually won medals and everything. After this, we all went and really carbo-loaded at the Cracker Barrel with giant stacks of pancakes. After that, I hated myself, but life goes on. We're proud of you guys!
